A little trivia about the poker room buildings in San Diego ...

A common thread with these older poker rooms in San Diego (often on El Cajon Blvd., but elsewhere in the city too) is that they were limited to 7-tables maximum, and that they had to have window(s) with unobstructed views from the street, so that the San Diego Police could drive by and monitor what's going on inside. Sometimes, the poker rooms had a small snack bar in the back too.

So if you do your Google map searches of other older San Diego card room addresses, you will find similar small storefronts with street-side picture windows in them (unless they have been remodeled since closing).

Those rules & limits weren't applicable for card rooms in other nearby cities outside the San Diego city limits. And more recent clubs may have finally gotten a reprieve for larger operations. For the most part, the Indian-owned big casinos in the area have absorbed most of the gambling business anyway.
