Saturday Finds at Kobey's San Diego

Paid a rare visit to Kobey's on Saturday rather than Sunday and found some new treasures:

At least five new finds! Including a California gaming venue that has not yet been reported.

Oosterdam - I think that means "Pass the Meatballs" in Swedish - gotta try it out at my next smorgasbord.

Today's Swap Meet Lesson: Oscarnudda Day. Saw those Oscar Goodman tan chips months ago but the vendor wanted $20 apiece for them. Put down the chip and walked off. Over the ensuing months, I passed the chips in his glass case but just kept walking by. Yesterday I felt lucky (after a successful service of Summons in Lynwood) so I again picked one up and asked the price. The vendor squinted and said sheepishly, "One dollar." Then he added, "Hey, I got a couple more in there, don't I?" And I replied, "Yeah. Do you want to make a deal on selling them all?" And he replied, "Three dollars for the lot!" Custer Beaten!! Sometimes it pays to wait a few months and "Oscarnudda Day." (This tactic does not work, however, at the Chip Convention, when you are followed down the aisle by a hoard of rapid Oscar fans.

Oosterdam! Oosterdam!
