Most excellent finds as always!
In Response To: Today’s finds ()

You outdid yourself this weekend. Samarino you probably know is attributed to Quito, Ecuador, but it's said the club never opened. If true - who used the chips and where? They turn up among California stuff from time to time.

Whiskey A Go Go - great find! The night club attracted young and older folks alike, so perhaps the red chip was given to adults to buy liquor, the younger kids may have had to make do with a different colored chip to buy a Coke or some such. Probably given for payment of an entry cover charge which would have included one drink.

Gold Country Casino 25c chip in the style you show was offered to yours truly for $5 or $10 recently at the Long Beach Swap Meet. Didn't buy it, got one for much less elsewhere or maybe a recent trade. Still, it may have some value (at least in the eyes of a few swap-meet vendors).

Silver City Casino lucky penny - have seen those also for sale at swap meets down here, also at something of an advanced price - "because it's a real old penny." Sheeesh! Coin might be worth ten cents to a penny collector, not an extra $10 or so. But a very good find if you picked it up for much less than that!

I'm guessing you were on a windy island full of Alamutes wagging their tails . . .

I will post my Pasadena finds of today in a couple of days. Have to be at the hospital by 8 AM tomorrow so no time for photography. Wish me good luck on that one. Because bad luck . . . would be awful.
