Re: WHO REMEMBERS THE ORMSBY HOUSE, CARSON CITY?

Rich, I remember attending the grand opening in 1972, I think it was on or around
Christmas Day. It was a big deal in Carson City when it opened, being the second
Ormsby House the Laxalt family operated. Their slogan was "the Mild, Wild West"
(rose in gun). Out of respect they built it a couple of feet lower than the Capitol
dome. The bar had some booths with curtains so lawmakers could deal in private.
I remember seeing Bob Cashell there. Fun times.
