A fundraising idea to consider.

Here is a simple way to fundraise at the convention this year. Low costs and big money coming our way.

How it works…

We locate a highly visible place where we have some signs and a full-size dice table
layout on the wall. The layout is customized for our ask. We come up with a “NEED” that we will be
fundraising for and we advertise it there with signs describing how people can be involved.

Attendees are asked to donate for the cause by “placing their bet”.

In order to place a bet they need to buy a chip/sticker from us. We have pre-printed options for them
to choose from or we could print one on the spot from the guide. They will select their donation amount
and it corresponds with the casino chip’s denomination. They pay the chip’s face value to us and then they
get to personalize that chip by writing their name or business, whatever. The chip is then added on the layout
wherever they want their bet. Full street-cred is there because everyone can see who is in the credit bar and
how much people contributed by the chips denomination.

The chips are different sizes depending on the $, so larger denominations are bigger sized chips/names.
Options are $25-$1000. I’d say a $1000 chip should be dinner plate size.:)

We would expect our BOD to start us off with some sizable bets on the board…
and then our membership will surely follow.

Our goal would be to have half the people attending donate the minimum bet of $25
Totaling $12,500

What do you think…? Would you place a minimum bet to help the Club fundraise for something we really need?

In the end, it is all just a fun way to give… We are all winners because we gave to the club. Unlike the raffle sales, these donations should qualify as tax deductible donations because there are no goods or services being exchanged for the donation. After we are all done a photograph of the layout is featured in the following club mag for everyone to see.

A crude visual… below rofl
