BY COINCEDENCE, I AM WRITING THIS AS HURRICANE MATTHEW IS DECENDING UPON THE FAIR CITY OF JACKSONVILLE. WHEN WE WENT TO BEST BET YEARS AGO, HURRICANE SANDY WAS DESCENDING ON THE NORTHEASTERN PART OF THE USA. WE WERE ON A TRIP TO SEE NANCY’S COUSIN IN CHARLESTON. WE SPENT THE DAY IN A HOTEL IN CHARLESTON, SC; WHILE SANDY PAST AND MOVED UP THE COAST AND DID OUR VISITING THE FOLLOWING DAY.
TRYING TO FIND THE BESTBET WAS A LITTLE TROUBLESOME, BECAUSE WE BELIEVED WHAT OUR GPS LADY TOLD US, GOT LOST; BUT EVENTUALLY FOUND IT.
WE WALKED INTO THE BESTBET AND IT WAS BRAND NEW, NOT SURE HOW LONG THEY HAD BEEN IN OPERATION, IT WAS A WEEK DAY I KNOW, AND THERE WAS A LADY SUIT AND MAN SUIT STANDING IN MAIN AISLE WAY OF THE CARD ROOM TALKING AND WE WALKED TOWARD THEM JUST GAZING AROUND LIKE A COUPLE OF YOKELS IN OFF THE FARM. THE YOUNG LADY SUIT ASKED IS ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR YOU? NANCY SAID YES THERE IS, (BECAUSE THERE WERE NO SLOTS AND SHE WANTED TO GET ME OUT OF THERE BEFORE I SAT DOWN AT ONE OF THE POKER TABLES) CAN WE BUY SOME OF THE CHIPS THEY ARE PLAYING WITH ON THE POKER TABLES. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS A CHIP COLLECTOR AND THAT I WAS A MEMBER OF THE CC-GTCC CLUB INTERNATIONAL, THAT I TRADED CHIPS WITH PEOPLE ALL OVER THE USA. I ALSO, MENTIONED THAT YOUR LITTLE PIECES OF CLAY ACT AS AN ADVERTISING WHEN I DO THAT. THE YOUNG LADY SAID, I UNDERSTAND HOW MANY WOULD LIKE? I TOLD HER AND SHE WENT TO THE CASHIERS CAGE LET HERSELF IN AND BROUGHT ME BACK $100 WORTH OF THE BESTBUY CHIPS UNTOUCHED AND NEVER USED. THIS YOUNG LADY IN THE SUIT WAS THE OPERATIONS MANAGER OF ALL THREE OF THE POKER ROOMS THAT BESTBET WAS A PART OF, WHICH ALSO INCLUDED THE POKER ROOM AT ORANGE PARK AND THE POKER ROOM AT ST JOHN’S GREYHOUND PARK. A couple of weeks back, I heard that the Gardens had opened its new casino building, so an evening trip was called for to see what surprises awaited.
The old structure, still known to most Californians as the Hawaiian Gardens Casino, has been reduced to rubble. Parking is still on the east side of the premises, but patrons have to walk under a long covered walkway to get to the new two-story building. Upon entering, I was struck by the elegant silver dolphins jumping out of the fountain in the lobby.
I exclaimed: "Quit hitting me, you stupid dolphins!"
Next it was time for a most important task: visiting the men's room. I was surprised to see goldfish in the lavatory sinks.
Then, on to the tables where I saw . . . nothing that looked new. So my next visit was to a cashier. By the way, the old casino had something like a half-dozen cashiers scattered about. This new one seemed to have only two cages, located side-by-side. I asked the cashier if they had any new chips out for the grand opening. "Yes, we have new $1,000 chips," she replied. Told her that was a bit steep, how about any lower denominations?
"Oh, yes, we have new $25's," she said, ruffling through her stock. "But I can't find any right now. Actually they look just like the other twenty-fives, but they are new!"
At this point I deduced I was speaking to Gracie Allen III, so I excused myself and asked a somewhat dour cashier at the second cage about new $25 chips. Told there were none.
Passed by a fascinating sign at one table, "English Only Must Be Spoken When Cards Are In Play." Felt like asking the idle dealer, "Por quë señor?"
And exited the building, looking for the volcano that used to be outside. Alas, it was gone, a victim of the construction. The only active volcano in California and reason to visit Hawaiian Gardens, and it was GONE!
Sometimes chip trips are just good for use of the men's room.

THIS WOULD BE THE LAST TIME I WOULD BE ABLE TO HARVEST IN THE NETHERLANDS, OR NOT; I REALIZED HOW HARD IT IS TO TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY ON MY LAST TRIP.
MY GRAND KIDS LIVE THERE AND THEY WOULD BE OF TRAVEL AGE SOON, AND I WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY BE ABLE TO VISIT THEM WHEN THEY CAME OVER HERE.
WHILE STAYING IN AMSTERDAM IT IS ALWAYS A TREAT TO GO TO THE HARD ROCK (NO GAMBLING) AND THE HOLLAND CASINO. THIS TRIP WE STAYED AT THE MARRIOT, AND IT WAS RIGHT ACROSS THE CANAL FROM THESE ESTABLISHMENTS.
HARVESTING IS EASY AT THE HOLLAND CASINO, THEY HAVE A 2 OR 3 LEVELS WITH SEVERAL CASHIERS AVAILABLE. YOU DO HAVE TO PAY TO GET INTO THE CASINO, ABOUT $5 AMERICAN DOLLARS. THE POKER ROOM IS FAIRLY SMALL BUT EXTREMELY BUSY. AND THEY HAVE ALL THE TABLE GAMES, SOME TIMES IT IS SO CROWDED YOU HAVE TO STAND BEHIND AND BET ON A SEATED PLAYERS HAND, LIKE THE OLD DAYS AT ATLANTIC CITY. THIS VISIT I PLAYED POKER AND DID FAIRLY WELL; SORTED OUT THE CHIPS I NEEDED WHILE PLAYING AND WAITED FOR NANCY TO GET TIRED OR BROKE. I DID GET ENOUGH CHIPS THIS TIME, BECAUSE I DO NOT COLLECT EURO CHIPS ANY MORE.

A few words on errors in type, or any other problems with my text or spelling, even though I use spell-check, I miss quite a few in all of the pages I compose. Please, Please, shoot me an email and let me know what I did. I may never know if you do not let me know.
I know I miss putting prices on some items, and even though you are not interested please let me know. Sometimes it takes an entire cycle of 2-3 months before I discover some of my mistakes and that is way too long
There are a few chippers out there that do point out the blatant errors; kudos and a high 5 to you, you know who you are so I won’t embarrass anyone by naming them in this little “info commercial”, lol. Thanks for doing this.

BUT NOW; RATHER THAN HAVING MY BETTER SETS CATEGORY, I WILL START HAVING A REGULAR SET OF THE DAY WITH MY OTHER FEATURES WHEN I DISPLAY A “PAGE OF THE DAY”.

Starting 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
