$4 Atlantis Chip Story
In Response To: for sale $4 RENO, NV CHIP for sale ()

That $4 brown cost a poker room employee dearly. On my first visit to the Atlantis several years back, I walked up to the Poker Manager and asked to buy a few chips, meaning $1's and $5's, maybe a $2. He surprised me by slyly handing over a $4 chip and muttering, "Give me four bucks, and don't say anything about this." I realized it was a drop chip, paid and quickly stuck it in my pocket.

I later heard that someone at Atlantis (this same man or another person) had been found by management, perhaps after a chip-counting audit, to have sold some of the brown chips, either all-at-once or little-by-little, and the casino kicked his ... well, this IS a family site, so let's just say "Posterior Extremity", before firing him.

But to protect everyone involved, let's just say my story above is a complete fabrication. I have no idea at all how a brown Atlantis chip ended up in my album. No, really. It must have been in one of my plastic album sheets when I purchased them new from a coin supply dealer. But for someone out there who has yet to own a $4, this is a good opportunity to add to your hoard.
