Meanwhile, below is a gathering story from me. Your call to use it whenever.
I still do a fair amount of travel for work, and, depending on where I’m going, my wife will go with me. She particularly likes the west coast cities (we’re in Massachusetts) but some other places appeal to her. However, regardless of where my travels take me, to the extent possible, I will do some gathering based on what the Chipguide tells me I’m missing (but I always ask just in case!). I also try to do some sightseeing along the way, especially when my wife is with me. Last fall we were in Portland Oregon for a meeting and, after the meeting, drove to the Oregon coast then inland to Crater Lake (one of the most beautiful scenic spots in the world) and then to Warm Springs and back to Portland. Picked up a couple of chips along the coast and then, in Warm Springs (Indian Head) got not only their new(ish) $1.00 but also a couple of $5.00 which were not in the Chipguide (since posted). All in all, a very nice trip for the scenery and for chippin’.

CASINO FANDANGO IS LOCATED CONVENIENTLY ALONG SIDE HIGHWAY 395. IT IS ON THE SOUTH END OF CARSON CITY BEFORE YOU TURN OFF TO LAKE TAHOE, JUST IN CASE YOU NEED A TRAVEL BREAK BEFORE CLIMBING THE BIG HILL IN THE TAHOE AREA.
I HAVE BEEN IN THIS CASINO SEVERAL TIMES. THE FIRST TIME IS WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO WRITE ABOUT. BACK ABOUT 10-12 YEARS AGO, THERE WAS A REGULAR $1 HOUSE CHIP WITH THE FISH (TOON), WITH MOSTLY WHITE IN THE INLAY. AROUND THIS TIME MAYBE, A COUPLE YEARS PRIOR THEY DUMPED ANOTHER VERY SIMILAR CHIP IN WITH THE HOUSE CHIP. EXCEPT, IT WAS RED IN THE INLAY. FOR A WHILE THIS WAS A HOT ITEM.
WHEN I WENT IN THERE, THE PLACE WAS EMPTY, MAYBE A FEW PATRONS, BUT EVERYONE WAS BORED. THIS WAS EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON, NAP TIME…I TALKED TO THE PIT BOSS WHO WAS HANGING OUT AROUND THE CRAP TABLE. HE SAID YEAH, THERE ARE STILL SOME OF THE “RED FISH” LURKING AMONGST THE STACKS ON THE CRAP TABLE AND THE BLACK JACK TABLES. I AM NOT SURE IF HE CALLED UP STAIRS TO THE “EYE IN THE SKY”, BUT ANY WAY BOTH THE DEALER AND THE STICK WENT TO WORK ON EACH SIDE OF THE STACKS OF CHIPS ON THE CRAP TABLE. AND BEFORE THEY GOT THROUGH THE STACKS THEY HAD FOUND MORE THAN THE 20 CHIPS I HAD ASKED FOR. SO WE LOOKED FOR A FEW OF THE LE’S I WAS MISSING AND FOUND A FEW OF THEM TOO.
I WAS HAPPY AND TIPPED THE TWO EMPLOYEES, BUT THE PIT BOSS TURNED ME DOWN, GUESS SOME PLACES HAVE POLICIES ABOUT ACCEPTING TIPS.
I DID GET ENOUGH OF THE CHIPS I WAS LOOKING TO FIND. THIS WAS A HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL HARVEST FOR ME. THANKS TO A VERY COOL PIT BOSS…REGGIE

I am always trying to put things together that have some semblance of balance. Of course, that will always be in the eye of the beholder. Some of these may attract you the collector a little or a lot, no matter which way it attracts, please know I am always trying to help you out, with items you want at price that is fair. Starting in January 2016, I have listed everything I have (all of my excel inventory +) on the collection library trader/for sale. Of course, many of you did not know that my previous listings were items I had more than one of. Now, everything; even the ones I only have 1 (one) of will be listed. Please know; none of these are from my personal collection. One more important point while searching for chips on my CL site; there are two settings for viewing my chips. One is a simply a long, long list of pictures and descriptions. Two is by Country/City/State/Casino alphabetical. You may request to change this at any time. And when you do I will leave it on that setting for a couple of days, or whatever you request within reason, before I change to help another chipper’s request.

This will cause more work for me, and along with that will be the possibility of more errors, and chances for items to slip through the cracks. So, I apologize in advance for the times I do not clear off a listing after it has been sold. Also, on the other side of coin, there will be times I will find a very nice item that I had forgot to put on the “Collection Library” when I first got it. And now I am listing it just when you started looking for it.
*On the subject of trading, please know: When you spot something on my CL Trader/For Sale list that you really want, I need to get something that I can put into my collection, also; or it will be a cash sale. Because, to take in trade something I will in turn have to sell, (that is already in my collection) requires me to work twice as hard to complete the original transaction.
The total amount of chips listed on this site as traders and for sale are approximately 4500. This of course will fluctuate up and down, however this number should afford most collectors looking for a piece to put in their collection at least an opportunity to see a few chips not often offered.
