The fun is in the hunt...NCR

OK so this is not the best time of year to go to yard sales. In my little city there were only 3 sales this weekend and one of those they had last week also. I went to one of them yesterday and found nothing (not unusual). Cindy was leaving for work this morning and there was another sale that started today so I figured I would go to it. I was concerned that it said estate/yard sale. Many times that just means a crappy yard sale and no estate. When I found out it was 15 minutes away I almost decided not to go. But I had nothing better to do so went anyway. I figured that I may find another sale or two on the way and I did find one more sale but they had nothing. So I get to the sale in the garage (disappointed) and figured that I was right about it. Then I noticed a sign on the door - more sale inside. I went inside and they had some of the larger furniture pieces in there. There was an old lady sitting on a sofa and this was supposed to be an estate sale so I asked if she had any Jewelry or old coins to sell. She hemmed and hawed for a minute then said that she had a jewelry box of stuff but hadn't had time to get it out. I told her that I would be happy to look at any of her jewelry if she would get it. She went to get it and came out with a very large box of jewelry. Each piece was in a little box with spacers in it - like a pill box. There must have been 15 or 20 of those. I started looking at it and quickly found some 14K and sterling pieces. After spending about half an hour looking thru most of it I just asked her how much she wanted for all of it. She said she would not sell all of it but I could pick out what I wanted and she would give me a price. I had picked out a lot more than what is shown here but quite a few pieces she wanted to keep. I picked all of the stuff in the scan except for the three rings on the bottom row. She wanted $200 for it and I thought about bargaining but decided to just take it before she changed her mind. The she said she had a few more rings to show me and they are the three on the bottom row. You can't tell what they are in the scan but two are 14K and one is 10K. One band has something like 17 small diamonds in it, one has 10 diamonds and a decent opal and the last has what looks to be about a .25 carat square cut diamond (I couldn't find any flaws in it but I am not an expert) and 12 small rectangular cut diamonds. She wanted $1000 for them and I negociated my way down to $600. I think I may have overpaid for them but I am hoping the nice ring will be worth what I paid for all of them and the others will be free.

In the scan the top row is 14K, the second row is 10K the next two rows are sterling. I got 15 g of 14K, 7 g of 10K and 42g of sterling. Metal value for just those is around $587. grin Now I just hope the other 3 rings are worth more than I paid. I am going to start selling all of this stuff soon but can't quite figure out what the best method will be - Ebay, Craigslist, antique mall or something else??? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I almost forgot to mention...she also has other rings and old coins in her safety deposit box that she wants to sell. I really look forward to seeing them. The fun is in the hunt and sometimes you get to yell "JACKPOT"!!
