They were my original website codes...
In Response To: wanted Catalog for UK chips.. ()

For several years I maintained a website that tried to list all UK known casinos (open and closed) and as many chip scans as I could find from my own collection and those that people sent in.

Unfortunately work and family commitments meant I no longer had time to keep the website up to date, but when the chipguide was created I donated the records and scans that I had and Charles Kaplan managed to convert my files in a way that meant many of the scans could be uploaded.

The coding guide was designed to indicate the casino, the denomination and then the reference within that range - for example AN = Annabelles, F = fractionals so the first 2 fractionals I had from Annabelles were AN00F.1 and AN00F.2 and so on. The contributor names are those that originally sent the chip scans to me (it was important that they kept the credit for their scans) but some have been updated since. It was a logical start but I underestimated the number of casinos in the UK and so 2 alpha codes started to become a problem to keep for different casinos so there are some slightly strange combinations!

I don't think that coding has been continued though (probably reasonably as it would need a rethink for that kind of coding - probably 3-alpha at the front).

I probably have a list somewhere!

Regards

Jason
