One For Sure....
In Response To: Question on Laughlin Casinos ()

Don Laughlin's Riverside Casino -- the original casino on the Colorado River -- still uses the tokens in a bank of machines -- Red Hot Sevens. There are always players on ithose three machines and it appears they are used as an attention-grabber. If I remember correctly, the tokens are brass and it takes three of them per pull to win the jackpot. Also, at the cage you can go to the side window and ask the shift supervisor if any tokens have been redeemed. They also get older chips and keep them for collectors -- be sure to leave a tip if you find a gem. Last time I was there, the cage had a couple racks of Don Laughlin new tokens -- still only $1 each. Also, the gift shop has Silver Strikes for sail and earlier new slot tokens. The Pioneer -- quite a walk from the Riverside -- still has $1 token on only a few machines, but were changing them over when we were there last year. Hope this helps.
