Sometimes TV shows drive me nuts...NCR

I was sitting in my chair this afternoon trying to recover from an incredibly sore back from working on my pond yesterday. On TV was a show called Safecrackers. Its about a couple of guys that run a locksmith shop and specialize in opening old safes. The first show I saw they found a safe from a railroad company in a river. Everything in the safe was wet except for some documents in a waterproof tube. They open the tube and find what they describe as some old railroad bonds. Only problem is you can see on the "bonds" where it says 100 shares. Obviously they are stock certificates. They say they are going to get them evaluated and determine that they are worth $4000. Another small problem - on every certificate they show you can see holes in the signature which means they have already been cancelled. So they may be worth $10-$15 each as collectables but the $4000 value is pure BS.
