John H. Watts moved to ~~~

~~~ West Palm Beach, Florida, in 1911, from IL... He owned and operated Watts Pots up to his death in 1952, though children continued operating the shop (in the back yard of their home on Southen Blvd) for many years. Mr. Watts had a hook for a hand he lost to cancer.
Their pots were made with a heavy wire mesh to resist breaking apart if cracked... and were shipped worldwide. I recently noticed one example listed for $1,200, but know of others selling for much higher -- and of course for way, way less... grin They're not too easy to find in good condition these days. They are also known as "Florida Pots"
