In Response To: Qustion about scanning chips. ()

A camera is often a better alternative. Most scanners change unusual colors to odd colors - shocking pink, orange, etc. will come out as grey or purple or who knows what.

As far as darkness goes, you can use some basic photo editing software to add light. I use Picasa, a free software package from Google (of course, you can Google it and find out where to get a free download). The software doesn't help with wrong colors, though.

If you are posting pictures here (for example, to sell), I would say use bad scans if you must, and add an explanation that "the real color is orange." We've all been through it.
