cellulose nitrate - BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cellulose acetate - OK (all new dice are made of this or some other material all together)

Vinegar smell is also an issue with European (older style) plaques and jetons and is a function of formaldehyde seepage!
