Thanks Ross ... I found a reconditioned V30 directly from Epson for $39 with FREE SHIPPING. Hopefully by this time next week, I will be back in business scanning again. grin

Thanks for everyone's input. I'm finally getting the hang of this new Windows 8.1 PC.
