I have a modest 1000 chip collection for which I use Collector's Assistant on a PC.
I have an iPad and iPhone and would love a dedicated App for my chip collection.
Right now, I have all my individual jpg chip scans in a folder on my PC that works with Collector's Assistant. I sync that folder manually with my iDevices through iTunes into a Photo Album. I thus have all my chip images on my iDevices. Problem is that if I want to look at one individual chip I have to manually search through all my chip images in the Photo Album - and Apple's native Photo App doesn't display the name of the jpg - but for 1000 chips, it doesn't take too long to find a chip image through inspection.
I also save a 2D Printout of my collection from Collector's Assistant on DropBox and can easily access that from my iDevices.
Thus, I carry all the information about my collection in my pocket (though technically, only the images are actually on my iDevices, the detailed 2D printout is in The "Cloud" and I need a WiFi or Cellular connection to retrieve it from Dropbox).
As I said above, I would love someone (Carlisle Group? - author of Collector's Assistant) to develop an integrated App for the iPhone and iPad.
Hope ths info helps.
