I also keep just a scan of the chips in my collection. Using even a simple catalog program takes more time than I have to devote to it. I scan the plastic pages of my collection rather than single chips as this is much faster. I update once or twice a year and rescanning all the collection takes about 10-15 hours.

I looked at your fractional Las Vegas chips and would suggest you use a different scanner as several of the hot pink chips come out as nearly white.

I know lots of other collectors do scan each chip. One of the regular posters on The Chip Board wels a program customized for chip collectors. That is something to investigate if you decide to input individual chips. There is also a database of chip scans included with the Program, so that's a possibility if you don't need to show a scan of the exact chip in your collection.
