1967 genuine casino token from "George Raft's Colony Club, London." Sent in a transparent plastic holder, to keep it mint-like

DESCRIPTION: George Raft, the famous American actor known for his leading roles in Warner Brothers gangster films of the 1930s and 40s, was a front-man and greeter for George Raft's Colony sporting club, a Las Vegas-type casino in London, where gambling was also legal. His title there was "Casino Director." He also had a financial interest in the club (as he did in the Casino de Capri, Havana, Cuba, till the Castro revolution). He was eventually barred from the United Kingdom due to his underworld associations. Return privileges.

The gaming/slot token up for auction is the 1967 Franklin Mint "Proof-like" version. Both sides shown above. "Proof-like" tokens are limited edition versions made by the Mint (Franklin Mint) for collectors, they are identical to the regular strike version, except they are highly polished/reflective, uncirculated, and are excellent for collecting. This token is a larger at 39 mm or 1.53" inches than the standard 35 mm or 1.37" inch size, it's made from Solid Franklinium II, a nickel-silver alloy mixture.
