To me that looks like way too much of a difference to be the same color.
Especially considering the one on the right looks too much in good condition to have major fading.

Then again, I have cleaned certain "common" casino chips in solution that made them come out very pale.
Such a cleaning at some point could account for the difference.

The foil on the left looks silver, the foil on the right looks gold.
Is that just an illusion created by the light of the scanner?
