Cleaning tokens...

Is it considered ok in the collecting biz to clean casino tokens? I know you don't clean coins (I've been a coin collector for years), but tokens are a different animal. I seem to recall that at some time some of the casinos washed their tokens, much like some of the fancy hotels used to wash change.

It's not like these are fine collectibles similar to say a "Silver Eagle". They were meant to be abused.

Do you clean your tokens?

I have some that I put on gloves to handle, they are "that" dirty!

I was thinking of dipping my tokens in "Koinsolve". It's an acetone product usually used to remove the slime on coins caused by older flips that still contain PVC.

LMK, what you think.
