Note that they were also used after the intro of the NF -- and each of the "1000" plaques has that little file mark (at least the 60 exampes I had) on the edge. Also (which might have been common back then when 'foreign' material transferred), there might have been a new production of the "100" somewhere along the line since we know of a different composition plastic (new and w/o comma). I guess it was less expensive than ordering a new series, maybe.
