Based on your scan posted my observation is that there is a fraction of compensation/correction you have to make to align the first and the last letters if you "referencing" to S and O. Scan 2 for you.

My compensating/correction factor is based on scan number 1234323_1.

Correct me if my eyes are blurry, please.
