Thinking of going to the convention?

There are lots of ways to make that happen. A lot of collectors just sell some duplicate chips and in a few days have enough money to pay for the trip. No matter how you get the money it is going to be a big disappointment if you don't go to this years convention. If you have never been to one of our conventions then it will just be chip overload if you go. You will see literally hundreds of thousands of chips. And did you ever notice that when there is a lot of competition that prices are low? The best example I can think of is coin shows. When I got to a coin store the prices are always at high retail. When I go to a coin show the prices are rock bottom. Some dealers even sell silver at no or very little markup over melt value. The same is true of our convention. Sometimes you can get a good deal on chips on Ebay but at our show there are dealers selling chips at face value or less. And with the competition the higher priced stuff is available at great discounts. So come to the convention, meet a lot of great fellow club members, enter one of the tournaments, see the free educational shows and buy some nice chips for your collection.

I just made my reservations today. I booked Southwest for the air at $300 which is a very good rate these days. I was not going to do it then remembered that they have the no change fee thing so I am not worried about by curent bad flight times. If rates drop I will just make the change for hopefully no added cost. I also booked 7 nights at Southpoint at the club rate. Considering the Electric Daisy Carnival is going on that weekend we are very lucky to get such good rates ($50 weekdays, $85 weekends) from the casino. I urge everyone to book using the club rate also since the club gets benefits for the larger number of rooms booked. When you gamble at Southpoint please use your slot card to track your play. I am not positive that the SP tracks our members play as part of the convention benefits but it can't hurt.

Now if I can just find a rental car for under $250 I will be all set.

I look forward to seeing everyone there including a few new faces this year.
