Puerto Rico Casino History

A noticed a pair of dice that showed up on eBay today. They were from the Hotel Borinquen in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I could not find anything in any of the references that I have for a casino in Puerto Rico called the Hotel Borinquen. After about an hour of searching on the internet, things fell into place after finding an article about a radio station that used to broadcast from the top of the hotel. It turns out the property orginally opened as the Hotel Darlington, about 1968. In 1971 in became the Borinquen Hotel and had a casino called Lagente. Next it became the Gran Bahia from 1978 to 1983. It was the Clarion Hotel from 1991 to 1996. It is has been renovated and it currently is the Gold Triangle Condominium. It is located right next to the convention center. It is amazing what you can find on the internet.
