I would stay somewhere on the strip, near the middle is best. Depending on how much you want to spend you can get rooms at casinos from $17 per night and up. Just be careful with any MGM owned properties since you can pay more in resort fees than the room rate (like up to $25 per night!). I have seen rates like $68 at Mandalay Bay recently. All of the Harrahs properties have great rates also and no added fees. I was really impressed with the redesigned Trop also. Most of the best shows are at that part of the strip also not to mention the Bellagio, TI and Mirage outdoor shows at night. There are lots of great deals out there just by looking at web sites. With the number of room nights you are getting you should also get an additional discount. I can't help with transportation or shows but keep in mind there are lots of "half off" show stores around town.
