"Atlantic City Run"

Well, we decided to try the Golden Nugget this time. Not quite as nice as I had thought it would be. It was exactly as one might imagine - the "old Trump Marina with a cosmetic facelift". The room was okay, the casino was okay, etc. ... but it wasn't quite like Harrah's Marina (which is more or less my usual and comfortable home base). It was just okay. Overall, (and in my opinion) I'd give Golden Nugget maybe a 7.5'ish (where I would probably consider Harrah's upwards of a 9). We also popped into the new Revel for a little bit. Somewhat surprised and disappointed to see the lack of patrons there - it was all but empty. Now I can understand why they might be in some financial hot soup as I have read in the papers.

Anyway, the highlight of my weekend was the journey to and from AC. We drove along the Jersey Shore for a bit... saw some of Sandy's devastation. It's one thing to see it on the news but when you see it first hand, it's absolutely breathtaking and very, very sad. Stopped at a couple of Harley dealers along the way and tried to pursuade my wife that I really NEED a bike for my birthday (okay, okay... birthday/Christmas gift). She wouldn't bite. She said, "you don't really NEED one - and, you don't even know how to ride one" (huh, women... go figure!!). She told me that the chips below should hold me over until we can afford to buy me a Harley someday. I'll try again next year!

Oh yeah, one more thing... had breakfast at Amy's Omelette House on Ocean Avenue - freakin' AWESOME!! 219 different omelettes to choose from (may upload some pics for you guys to see). Couldn't decide on an omelette, so we got french toast... and TWO omelettes. Excellent place if you're ever in the Long Branch, NJ area!
