I was thinking GeneT had proposed that term several years ago, but it doesn't seem to be in general use, at least on TCB.

I am trying to come up with some term that distinguishes a chip that has a marked value from a chip that has only a value assumed in play. Roulette chips are No Value chips, but they do have a value assigned before you bet with them. Likewise some casino poker chips that are different colors but have no marked value. I'd call them Value Chips since you buy them with cash and can cash them out. That's not the popular understanding of the term, Value Chip though.

No Cash Value chips can be played for the amount marked on them, but can't be cashed out for money.

Looks like it's going to require a picture or table to try to categorize them all with consistent terminology.
