I believe Armin Pfaender is the only one putting out a California guide that has been updated recently. I do not have his contact info.

As for the effect of new finds, it completely depends on the chips themselves: geographic location, denomination, former rarity, demand, desirability factors such as the specific casino, the graphics on the chip, etc. all affect the value of chips and so affect the value of chips after new discoveries. If a highly collected area, you can ask the guide book author(s) what they think about the effect of the find.

I would post finds here first and then notify authors of the guidebooks. For California, I would contact Armin. James Campiglia wrote on this board that he was no longer updating his US Casino guide.
