I guess it's like the FA Cup here, or the final of any international sporting event?

In part I agree with you - I am not too bothered if I miss the FA Cup Final, but I will be taking a half day next week to go and see Colchester United (yes, really ) playing Concord Rangers in the Essex Senior Cup semi-final (all I know about Concord is that they play somewhere on Canvey Island!!! - but millions will watch the FA Cup Final on TV regardless of who is playing. And only a few hundred will watch the Concord Rangers game on Wednesday - and that includes the home fans. Of course the snow here last night means that game is probably in doubt now anyway.

And as for things like Wimbledon.....yikes!!!
