I have the 50c with the same colors. I believe it's the real chip. You would have to have worked with Paul-son to fake a dollar with the same colors. I'd say it's an error. Would like to have one in my collection of PS metal inlays!

BudJones CIC chips can be faked by pressing out the coin inlay and replacing it with another. The Paulson's are thin aluminum and molded in. You couldn't remove one without destroying the chip.
