The first octagonal chip from the Caribbean ~~~

~~~ that I know of ( grin ) was from POINTE-A-PITRE, GUADELOUPE; le Cercle du Commerce. The piece was 1/2 Gourde, bronze and 30 mm. The monogram on the obverse is 'LCC' and had a catalog value of 2200-3500 Frf in 1994. Circa: 1825... Probably was the first organized gambling house in the Caribbean as well.
Hope this bit of information made your day complete... grin
