I really love the set of 4 that came out of a scrapbook...they tell a bit of their own little story .

"Irene and I" were in Reno at the Club Fortune on November 11, 1943 (Thursday). On Friday November 12 they were in Vegas, at the Pioneer Club. On Sunday, November 14 they were at the Cinnabar and the Apache. They were accompanied at the Apache by Lt. Harold McCabbie and Lt. William Lane...fly-boys from the Tonapah Air Base.

Wonder what "Irene & I" did on Saturday? Did they meet the fliers at the Apache or were they already aquainted? If they just met, did they stay in touch with the fliers...or was it just a case of having a drink or two with a couple of lonley guys in uniform? Were the girls from Nevada, or maybe on a vacation?

I really really wish we had the rest of that scrapbook, but the single page with napkins (2 napkins on each side of the page) was all that was offered...
