Ron, Jim & Pam G. ...

I can confirm that the clear plastic tubes from MGM Reno were used to hold dollar tokens (though they will hold chips too).

I was at the MGM Grand Reno shortly after it opened and picked up a few of them. This was when they still had change girls on the floor selling rolls of nickels, quarters and half-dollars. No rolls for the dollar tokens though. You'd buy $20 in dollar tokens from the change girl, out of her rolling change cart, and she would have some of these plastic tubes if you wanted one. The tubes were placed on top of the dollar machines too, for handling cash-outs. (No 100-token racks at that time, at least for public use.) They also used plastic coin cups for smaller coins, similar to all the coin cups of that era, as I recall.

Pam, I still have a couple of these clear plastic tubes with "MGM Reno" on the tube. If you want one, I'll send it to you (No charge). Just respond to this post to my email with your mailing address.
