ARSON INVESTIGATION AT A.C. CASINO

ATLANTIC CITY - Fire officials are investigating an arson incident in an Atlantic City casino.

Authorities responded to the Bally's Casino around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday evening for reports of a fire. Fire Chief Dennis Brooks confirmed that there were fires lit in multiple locations

One was reported in the loading dock area where the flames quickly spread to surrounding cardboard boxes. While fire officials extinguished that blaze, they were alerted of another fire this time on the 2nd floor, a reasonably far distance from the first. Firefighters also responded to smoke on the 42nd floor but no flames were reported.

Authorities say they have one man in custody they believe to be responsible for starting the fires. Officials add this suspect allegedly tampered with the casino sprinkler system.

The suspect, who's identity is not being released at this time, was located by police through surveillance video and arrested on the casino floor.

Bally's Casino remained open and operations were not affected. Authorities were not forced to shutdown the building. No one was injured.
