One nite while my wife and I were staying in M-C, we walked over to the Loews (late-80s) to try our luck, but before going into the casino we went atop the building to check out the pool area because there was some type of Italian convention going on (it was the week just after the race and before Cannes). I don't remember if we walked up the stairs or took the lift, but in the lobby area leading up to the reception there was a group of about 15 dwarfs speaking both French and Italian... and what I gathered in passing is that they worked on the property. Now, having only played the casinos in the Islands and on ships/day cruises at the time; I had no idea there was any such thing as sorting machines going on at Roulette tables, and when I first noticed the dealer swiping the chips to the hole where they fell in I thought it very strange thinking that new chips would be brought over to the table... and I totally freaked when I saw him reach below the table for the stacks... Yep, one of those 15 guys was my first thought when my wife asked "How is he doing that?"
