The Sands in Reno is still open. At various times it's been Sands, Sands Regent, Sands Regency. Most of the "hockey puck" ashtrays, including yours, aren't uncommon...though the one you found isn't super-common.

If your tray is one that Mark has pictured for the Sands Regent, it's listed as an R-2 (typically $20-$100 on his value scale), but don't get too excited...the economy (and the price of collectibles) has tanked since he wrote the value table, and hockey pucks would've been at the low end of the scale in any economy.
