Okay here is the background story. I bought this chip that I have been after for awhile. It arrived and I opened it and everything was great. I was happy and told co-worker that passed by my office. Co-worker was looking at it and dropped it on my glass top desk from about 1 to 2 feet above desk. This is what the result was...

So being a newbie, I had a few questions. Is the small circle disk that fell out of the middle a normal insert of some kind??

Has this chip been tampered with sometime in its past? The Inlay is a hard disk and I am having a hard time getting it to pop back into its spot. Other side is fine.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated as I am not really sure how to repair.
