Furcal has been a great addition to the Cardinals infield.
For years, the Cardinals had been known for their excellent defense. They
started getting away from the great defensive players over the last few years.
Instead, they were more concerned about offensive production. Not saying
which approach is better, but I'm sure glad to have a middle infielder who
can chase down a blooper and make a catch with his back to the plate.
The fact that Furcal has shown some pop in his bat from the lead-off position
doesn't hurt either.
