It has come to my attention that the web site owned and maintained by the Museum portion of the CC>CC {stupid, but required abbriviation} is starting to list slot tokens along with chips, slot cards and the like.

If you are primarily interested in tokens and do not want to wade through tons of other material to possibly find a token, I have the site for you. Roy Mode, from Sacramento was in the process of producing a major work on slot tokens. Not just the graphics but a unique numbering system that will make sense, with such information as year, mint mark, type of edge, alignment, rotation, material, route company if a route token and detailed scans if required of specific distinguishing features.

I am proud to have been a part of this project in data gathering and assisting where and when needed.

Until recently I was under the opinion that this work was still to be released but found out from John Kallman that it has been available for a long period of time and that he was and is hosting same on his web site. I have the same thing as on the web site with a fully functioning application to run same available on DVD’s and are available upon request.

Mr. Mode is currently undergoing some hard and trying times and contrary to the notation I would request that you do not attempt to contact him directly. When and if the situation changes I will most certainly inform this board. I have been informed that he only checks his email several times a month, if that.

Contrary to the purest who believe only Nevada has REAL items this site covers all of the U.S., Canada and wet. The high face value tokens [over $5.00] are NOT listed. Give it a look-see if you are interest. Many years have gone into its creation. If you are looking for guess and by gosh values, forget it. Both Roy and I abhor the idea of assessing a value to anything. What it is worth is between the seller and the buyer.

The number of slot tokens is near a fixed number and no special editions for the day of the month, special person or event are or will be produced.
