Irene - Final Report from Delaware Coast

Final report for the night/morning. Some wind, some rain, a couple of tree branches down and no major flooding - I'm sending Irene up the Coast to New Jersey and New York - good luck to everyone up there.

Overall here in my part of Delaware - a mere 40 feet from a major body of water - the Indian River Bay and only about 5 or 6 miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean - we were very, very luck and only sustained very minor damage and Irene was a non event for me.

Delaware kept it's record intact of NEVER being hit directly by a hurricane while it still had winds in excess of 74 miles per hour. Irene pasted off the coast of Delaware about 50 miles out in the Atlantic Ocean.

Take care,
Jerry "no direct hit" Birl
