Good news and bad news! Large Casino Chip find.

After contacting the owners of the property this morning to make sure they were not interested in the chips, I am able to report this find. Around 5:30pm last night a friend called me to report a bunch of casino chips in a dirt pile in Carson City. A constuction worker and some employee's told everyone to help themselves. I arrived around 7pm to find this pile with several people picking up hoards of chips. I collected quite a few myself and actually just put them in the back of my truck. I estimate 20,000 to 30,OOO left the site with other people. The bad news is that these are the Travel Lodge casino chips from Carson City with only a few known of the $5 chips. The owner of the Ormsby House believes they came from under the stage. There were rumors for years that chips were burried there, but they thought they would have been from the Ormsby casino. The dirt was moved for use as decomposed granit to the site where they were found. I posted first thing this morning a warning to not purchase any Travelodge chips below. The chips look like they were buried almost brand new. The majority of them are warped, but some are in very good shape after cleaning the dirt off. There is of course some yellowing of the center. Not sure if it has made the local news yet, but I don't want to be the one to contact them today. I have several meetings to attend. I also do not want to get rid of any untill I am 100% sure I will retain possession. Enjoy the sample below, Doug
