It's just a good idea to keep multiple email addresses.
I use my main one (Internet Provider).only for banking/utilities and personal friends/family
Secondary yahoo address for ebay,online purchases,message boards.
I get a lot of spam at yahoo addy,but none at the primary,just promos from legit sites.
