I was told by my webdesigner that using Flash program the IPhone and Ipad users won't be able to see the site.

Maybe certain app developers has come to go around Flash. I learn how to "purchase" app. Have you look into PCalc full version - a mathematical software developed by a British guy? Another that is very indespensable app is the Google Translate - there is a "freebie" and the commercial - what you cannot see, can see if you use the GT.
