Dennis, not sure if you are angry or not...

but will assume that you are not, and instead you might just be perplexed.

If I had to categorize the Lone Star chips (not the ones made by DB Productions) I would put them with these:

Presidents New Yorker
Cleopatras
World Trade Center, LV
Sunrise, LV
Jockey Club, LV
Palmas Club, PP, DR
Stardancer, FL
Winner's Circle, LV
Akwesasne, NY (1st version)
Capital City, CA
Gold Winner

All the above are listed on the ccgtcc Fakes, Fanatsy and Counterfiet page as "ND" Not Delivered. (The Cleopartras are not yet listed.)

As a genralization, these issues could be categorized as "fantasy" as opposed to "used for real play" in a casino, but for some it's best to just call them "chips ordered for, but not delivered" to a casino. For me, and it's just my opinion, these are not "fantasy" chips (except for the large denominations ones made by DB Promotions, which I would categorize as fantasy).

My collection includes all of the "Lone Star" chips shown on the Club's webpage for "Lone Star". What makes me curious about them is why the $1 looks to be made with the fading (bad resin) process, except for the flag, which remains bright and crisp!

Anyway, you asked: "how do you guys draw the boundary between fantasy and casino chips"? I believe that there are a lot of opinions on this and those opinions are expressed in different degrees of certainty. But you are at liberty to find your own comfort level in this somewhat murky area and don't be too surprised if your position changes over time.

I remember when I thought I would never own a chip with a cancellation hole! I have several now. Or a notched chip!! Heck, I now seek them out! vbg

I hope this post helps in some way.

And lastly, is it "Dennis" or "Denizzz" that you would prefer?

Thanks for reading,

Jim
