Re: Portland, Ore. cardrooms
In Response To: Portland, Ore. cardrooms ()

A couple of months ago I played in a "tournament only" poker room in eastside Portland, OR named "ACES". I, of course, picked up the tournament chips and you can see them on the Oregon Chip Guide.

These tournament-only poker rooms run tournaments all day long every 2 hours. Players come in early and play in a tournament and then when they bust out, go and play in the next tournament. Interestingly, the poker room charges a $10 fee for your first tournament of the day, any other tournaments you play in that day has no additional fee, just the tournament buy-in which goes into the pay-off pool. So the poker room makes only the $10 fee from every player who comes through the door. If you play one tournament, a great deal for the house.

No, I did not place in the tournament I played in but I did get a set of the chips.
