Response From The ChipGuide Guy

One observation that has been made is that: "There it are so many items from some casinos, that it takes forever for the page to load. And I only collect chips. Is there a way to let me only see the chips?" (or tokens or ash trays or $25 chips or whatever I want?)

The answer is YES, it can be done. However, when you get something, sometimes you have to give something. So what would you have to give?

There are two methods commonly used to allow web page customization. One is by PROFILES and the other is by using COOKIES. Either way, information has to be stored with each individual's personal preferences. Many people don't like the idea of COOKIES, because many internet marketing concerns (or in other words - SPAMMERS) use COOKIES to track what you are doing on the internet. So COOKIES have a bad name and some users don't allow COOKIES. With PROFILES, another layer of overhead is introduced to the ChipGuide, meaning that in order to use your profile you would have to LOGIN to the ChipGuide with a userid and password to identify yourself and retrieve your preferences.

So which would you prefer? COOKIES or PROFILES?
