Re: What street is that???
In Response To: What street is that??? ()

The address of the Arizona Club was 219 North 1st Street, according to the Gaming Table. (Arizona Hotel was listed at 221 N. 1st, in the 1944 LV phone book...proprietor was listed as Margaret Wilson).

The Gaming Table shows that the O.O. Club was in the 200 block of Fremont Street, and opened in 1942. Based on the postcard, I questioned whether it should've said the 200 block of N. 1st Street. It was pointed out to me that there might have been more than one Double O Club...which is true. Also, the postcard isn't a photo...it's something that was painted by someone; it could have been based on exactly what was there, or there could've been artistic interpretation.

I tend to think it's based on what was there, because of this picture that I found online one time...Block 16 in 1909. You can see the Arizona Club and the Arcade. I can't read the others...and I haven't found any other independant confirmation on locations and addresses...
