If you sell .999 marked silver you can get melt-5%

That's what I found in local coin stores here in Portland. They can stock and resell pure silver items. Lower fineness bars and medals bring a lower return as they must be melted and assayed. US junk silver coins sometimes bring a premium over melt when you sell as they are easy for the dealer to resell and the demand now is high.

So what would the melt value be...
1 Troy pound is 12 ounces.
But they don't give you the current price correct?
