Las Vegas Mob Experience

I attended the Las Vegas Mob Experience last night at the Tropicana. It took more time to get the attraction open then they planned but the time was worth it. The event is using the Trops pavillion area. The decorations and very nice and well done. The displays are equally as professional, informative, and impressive.

You start out, after buying your ticket and getting a badge identifying you as a certain character - I was The Waiter. You the proceed thru the gift shop and enter the attraction. First person you meet if Tony, a perfect example of the type of character you would have met in a warehouse on the docks back in Chicago unloading a shipment of illegal hooch from Canada. The costumes are great as are the voice accents. Tony tells you about the illegal operation and gives you a envelope to give to Big Leo. After going thru a secret door, you meet Big Leo. After some discussion with Leo you move on to meet the Precinct Patrolman who wants you to give up Big Leo. All along your course you have choices as to how you react to their questions.

You'll also meet a nice gentleman with a big baseball bat who needs your input on how to handle a card cheater. There are displays of old slot machines, old cars, period room representations and lots of displays for each of the big names back in the mob days. Meyer Lansky, Bugsy, Spilotro, Giancona, and on, and on. Stories about each with pictures and many of their personal belongings. There are home movies of Bugys early days and informative films you can stop and watch. Some of the graphics and other feature films clips are fabulous.

Near the end you get to meet your fate. I won't say much more about this as I don't want to spoil the ending.

All in all, they did a great job on the displays and theme. If you are interested at all in the old days of the mob operation, take some time and see this exhibit when you are in town.
